J. Scot Heathman
Lt Col Jeremiah “Scot” Heathman currently serves as Chief, Senior Leader Management, Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott AFB, IL. In this job, he serves as the personal advisor to the Commander of Air Mobility Command, 18th Air Force and the Expeditionary Center on all Senior Officer, Civilian and Chief Master Sergeant matters. He develops and directs AMC’s plan for the O-6 Command Screening Board and manages the command’s O-6/E-9 assignment process for over 800 senior leaders. As a Command Pilot with over 2600 hours, Lt Col Heathman has instructed in the KC-135R/T and C-17A. His deployments include Operations NORTHERN WATCH, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and NOBLE EAGLE (Homeland Defense Operations). Additionally, Lt Col Heathman served as NASA’s lead airlift pilot delivering the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Phoenix Mars Lander for launch. Lt Col Heathman is an ROTC graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He possesses a Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership and was selected to attend U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College and their elite School of Advanced Military Studies program where he earned a Master’s in Operational Art and Science. After leaving Fort Leavenworth he served two years in the Pentagon as a key Politico-Military planner on the Joint Staff, J-5, and Iraq Division. Following the drawdown in Iraq in 2011 he was selected to serve as Executive Assistant to the Vice Director, J-5, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate. Following his Pentagon tour, he was chosen to Command the 64th Air Refueling Squadron—an Active Duty Associate tanker unit located at Pease Air National Guard Base in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Based on his experiences in command, he remains an active member of the General Officer Steering Council on Total Force matters. Lt Col Heathman will move in summer 2016 to attend the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Outside the military, Lt Col Heathman is an active Rotarian within his local community, a member of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, Lifetime Member of the VFW, member of the Airlift/Tanker Association and a Major in the U.S. Civil Air Patrol.
