Samuel Hong
Sam Hong is a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps currently attending Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA where he is receiving a dual degree in Information Technology Management and Masters of Business Administration. As a logistics officer, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom on a Military Training Team where he advised leadership in the Iraqi Army while logistically sustaining his team. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he led two company-sized elements to South Korea and Thailand to provide supply, maintenance, transportation, general engineering, and health service in support of large-scale multi-national exercises. He also led a separate company to participate in the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the Philippines in response to Typhoon Haiyan. During this time, he worked in conjunction with USAID to provide critical life support and supplies to the population while assisting the airfield to enable the throughput of essential stocks. He is an alumnus of UCLA with a B.S. in Sociology. His personal awards include three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals.
