Matthew "MOTS" Driskill
Matt Driskill is a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy currently serving as the Operations Officer for Electronic Attack Squadron 129 located at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station where he is responsible for the day-to-day flight operations of 200 officers and 44 EA-18G (Growler) aircraft. His primary duties include overseeing the execution of 6,000 sorties and more than 10,000 flight hours per year, comprising a $96 million annual budget, in order to graduate pilots and naval flight officers from a 46-week training syllabus to operational fleet service in the Growler. As a Naval Flight Officer, Driskill has logged over 2,000 flight hours in five different aircraft and has deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Odyssey Dawn, and Enduring Freedom. His personal awards include the Strike Flight Air Medal (3), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2). A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Driskill has an M.B.A. from Auburn University and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He serves as a Term Member with the Council on Foreign Relations, and in 2015 he created the Milken Institute’s Military Leadership Circle as a way to expand leadership and professional development opportunities for today’s military officers.
